Privacy Policy
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Alpine Vista Group LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Visitrax, a mileage tracking and reporting app. Visitrax is designed to keep your records on your device. We do not run servers that store your trips or visits.
Information Visitrax uses
Trips and visits. Dates, distances, start and end locations, places visited, trip purposes, and tax categories that the app records or that you enter.
Location and motion signals. When you allow it, Visitrax uses your device’s location and motion data to detect likely visits and trips and to calculate distances.
Subscription status. Visitrax is offered as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. Apple processes your payment. We do not receive your name, payment card, or billing address; we receive only the information Apple provides to confirm that a subscription is active.
Crash reports. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple provides us with crash reports and basic usage statistics. Visitrax does not include any third-party analytics.
Where your data is stored
Your mileage and place data is stored on your device. It leaves your device only if you turn on iCloud sync, in which case it is stored, encrypted, in your personal iCloud account under Apple’s terms. We cannot access data in your iCloud account.
How we use location data
Location and motion signals are used only to detect visits and trips and to calculate mileage within the app. They are not sold and are not used for advertising. You can turn off location access at any time in your device settings, which stops automatic visit detection.
Exports and sharing
We do not sell or share your trip or visit data, and Visitrax does not require an account. Data leaves the app only when you choose to send it, for example by exporting a report or a raw JSON copy of your records. What happens to an export after that is up to you and the service you send it to.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device (and in your iCloud account, if enabled) until you delete it. You can delete records at any time in the app, and you can set Visitrax to delete stored visit data automatically after one year or three years. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device; data synced to iCloud can be removed through the app or your iCloud settings.
Your choices
- Turn location and motion access on or off in your device settings.
- Turn iCloud sync on or off.
- Export a portable copy of your records as raw JSON.
- Delete individual records, all records, or set automatic deletion.
Support requests
If you contact support from the app or by email, we receive your email address, your message, and any app and device details included with it, such as app version and device model. We use them only to respond to you. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence at any time.
Children
Visitrax is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page and revise the effective date. This address remains the permanent location of the current policy.
